Why does tree work cost so much to remove from a single family residence? Here are some of the factors that influence price:
1) Size of the tree. A tree that is 1 foot in diameter at the stump is almost always gonna be cheaper to remove than one that is 3 foot diameter. This is pretty much common sense that most people can understand.
2) Is it near a house or power line? If yes, the price goes way up and risk is higher and guys have to work way slower and cut into smaller pieces. Longer to setup for each cut.
3) How far is it from the road? If near road it’s way cheaper. If it’s in backyard or down a hill then way more.
4) Seasonality. In Charlotte, NC where MTM Tree Services (mtmtree.com) operates, the high season is March to October. So if you get a few quotes in December you will probably get a better deal.
